A brand new Nintendo Switch firmware was released again, that is V5.0.2. As like the last update on March, it is a regular Nintendo Switch system update, no big features added but fixed 2 tiny bugs. Here you will get to know updates on Nintendo Switch V5.0.2, HB/CFW status and Flashcard options for a Nintendo Switch console with the latest firmware version.
Nintendo Switch firmware V5.0.2
April 16, 2018. It is applying to Nintendo Switch in all regions.
General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience, including:
- Resolved an issue that caused motion controls to respond incorrectly when playing games that use the feature
- Resolved an issue that caused user icons for recommended friends to not display correctly
Should we update:
If you want to enjoy all the new features of Nintendo Switch and get more system stability, you should update to the latest V5.0.2. Otherwise, if you want Homebrew and CFW, please don’t update.
Nintendo Switch V5.0.2: Homebrew and CFW
Homebrew Launcher for Nintendo Switch has been released for some months by a hacker known as Plutoo. But unluckily, the homebrew launcher is only working on a Nintendo Switch with firmware up to V3.0.0. The lower system versions Nintendo Switch consoles and V3.0.0 ones can install it to run the third-party app, tools and games. However, for the higher Nintendo Switch firmware handhelds, such as the latest V5.0.2, we can’t get Homebrews on it. If you are so lucky to have the proper Nintendo Switch device, you can follow the post to homebrew it. Future homebrew exploits for V4.0 to V5.0 will be released, but not now.
A new softmod exploit for Nintendo Switch to install CFW on all firmware versions is on the way. That is named Fusée Gelée, developed by @ktemkin, according to her, Fusée Gelée is a kind of coldboot “hack” software launcher for the Nintendo Switch. It can install Custom Firmwares to all Nintendo Switch consoles, regardless of the firmware versions. The Fusée Gelée can be in different versions, maybe set to be released in sometime this Summer, a list of essential things you need to prepare for example, a nicely-sized microSD card. Currently, what we know about “Fusée Gelée” is limited, but after reading this page, your most concerns about it can be solved.
In a word, we now can’t get HB on Nintendo Switch V5.0.2, but we may get CFW on this Switch firmware version once Fusée Gelée released by Kate Temkin and SciresM.
Nintendo Switch V5.0.2: Which flashcard is working?
There are many famous flashcarts work prefectly on the Nintendo 3DS console, such as the R4 card, Sky3ds+ and Gateway 3ds, they can either play commercial DS or 3DS games on our different 3ds family models, so we are no need to buy the expensive retail game cards or we can keep our precious game cartidges at home safely when going outside.
R4 cards like R4i gold 3ds plus or R4i sdhc 3ds rts, they are both still popular to buy in 2018, though can’t support Nintendo 3ds games, they work with the NTRboothax exploit to install CFW to our 3DS consoles. So .cia 3ds games are available to play. Sky3ds+ is the best 3ds game flashcard for any 3DS while the Gateway 3ds is already replaced by StarGate 3DS, which can support DS and 3DS games within one flash cartridge.
Then there is coming a question, can the 3 amazhing flashcards work on Nintendo Switch as well? No, R4 3ds cards can work on both 3DS and DSI firmware consoles, Sky3ds+ and Stargate 3DS, they are supporting all 3DS family devices, but all of them aren’t compatible with the Nintendo Switch. They are not flashcards for a Switch console.
Which flashcart is supporting the Nintendo Switch? Until to now, only one team has announced that they are developing flashcard for the latest Nintendo Switch. That is Team Xecuter or TX. TX upcoming flashcard or modchip for Nintendo Switch is not used for playing direct Swith games, but used to install Custom Firmware to the device. Here is what they say about their exclusive Nintendo Switch flash card.
TX Switch flashcard releasing delayed, please stay tuned wait!
This solution will work on ANY Nintendo Switch console regardless of the currently installed firmware, and will be completely future proof. This is *the* solution for opening up CFW (Custom FirmWare) on the Nintendo Switch. We want to move the community forward and provide a persistent, stable and fast method of running your own code and custom firmware patches on Nintendo’s latest flagship product. And we think we’ve succeeded!
At the same time, there is one flashcart can be mentioned here, it can’t play games on the Nintendo Switch, but it can emulate UP TO 200 Amiibos on your any Nintendo Switch machine with firmware v5.0.1 to v1.0.0. It is the N2 Elite, in the past, it’s also called Amiiqo.
N2 Elite/Amiiqo-flashcard for Nintendo Switch?
Yes, it works, one special Nintendo Switch flash cart for the console to emulate/backup Amiibo figurines.
N2 Elite is an NFC toy emulator currently supporting ALL existing Amiibo figurines, it allows you to “emulate” an Amiibo figure by backing up and restoring the data to their own multi-slot NFC disc. It collects figurines and keeps them safe. It can emulate up to 200 Amiibo figures. It provides a ton of value considering the price of Amiibo figures and the rarity of some characters.
To transfer your amiibos, an Android application is available and requires an NFC-enabled Android smartphone. If you do not have a compatible smartphone, do not panic, the N2 Elite USB Reader is also available in order to transfer your amiibos from a computer.
The N2 Elite really is the simplest way to backup your Amiibos for scanning on the go or for a keepsake.
